All that ails society in the new millennium has broken through the surface like a festering sore on the face of humanity.
Discontentment and the impatience of youth coupled with the slow rate of change and an ageing population unwilling to hand over power to the younger generation drives ambitions to levels alien to human morality and decency.
Alex is a young political aspirant who can no longer wait to get into office. She understands the workings of politics perfectly and realises the odds are stacked against her as a woman.
However she exploits the one thing she has in her favour, a rampant and deviant sexual desire and the weakness of men who like to be dominated. In public life she is an adviser to an ageing yet still powerful number crunching senator who decides the fate of any young aspirant in the party. Alex has a hold of him in their sexual relationship, assuming the dominant role. He has promised her his place in the Senate when he retires, however just after re-election Alex finds he has made a deal that will allow someone else the position she considers her own. She regains political reassurance from the Senator and then in an act of desperation and with the help of her effeminate boyfriend (also an adviser to the Senator) plots to eliminate him, so making space for herself in office.
Alex plans and carries out the assassination with ruthless efficiency during one of their sex sessions, killing the Senator by scarfing him and so making it look like death from misadventure. She returns home to celebrate with her boyfriend, but he is a total wreck, as he has also been forced to participate in the murder of his political rival and his homosexual lover.
In a fit of anger she decides she must kill him before he undoes all the good work and ends her dream. As he sets the table for their last supper she asphyxiates him with a plastic bag.
Celebrating with champagne and sexually charged at her triumph she sits down to dinner and samples the golden wine. Downing it in a gulp could it be that her lover has poisoned her and that she too has been violently cured?
